The odds on Manchester United winning this season’s English Premier League have lengthened after the reigning champions suffered a rare defeat at the hands of Everton over the weekend.
Manchester United had been listed two weeks ago at odds of 5/4 to triumph this season with leading online sportsbooks including 888Sport.com and BlueSq.com. However, these now show Sir Alex Ferguson’s men at 2/1 to win a fourth consecutive title while BoyleSports.com, BetFred.com, PaddyPower.com and Ladbrokes.com are offering 9/4.
Slightly longer, ExtraBet.com, StanJames.com and Coral.co.uk list odds of 12/5 on Manchester United winning the 2009/10 English Premier League followed by WilliamHill.com, SkyBet.com, Bet365.com and VictorChandler.com with 5/2.
With eleven games remaining, Manchester United sit four points behind Chelsea with the two giants set to meet on April 3 at Old Trafford before the season finishes just over one month later on May 9. BetDaq.com currently shows odds of 63/25 on the northerners recovering to win the title while WBX.com and Betfair.com are going with 257/100.
At the far end of the spectrum, ToteSport.com has lengthened its odds on Manchester United winning the 2009/10 English Premier League to 13/5 from 13/10 two weeks ago.
For their part, Chelsea are listed at odds of 1/2 with StanJames.com, ToteSport.com, SkyBet.com and VictorChandler.com to win this season’s title while Bet365.com, BetFred.com, BoyleSports.com, Coral.co.uk and WilliamHill.com show 8/15.
Chelsea last won the English Premier League title in 2006 with BlueSq.com, PaddyPower.com, 888Sport.com and ExtraBet.com showing odds of 4/7 that the Londoners will triumph this season followed by Betfair.com, BetDaq.com and WBX.com with 16/25.
