Online poker site PokerStars.com has announced that its upcoming 2010 Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) tournament series will begin on May 3 and run for a full two weeks guaranteeing $36 million in prize money.
The Isle Of Man-licensed domain revealed that each of its 33 events would have three buy-in levels and guaranteed prize pools while encompassing almost every format it has to offer.
The first event will be a no-limit hold’em six-max competition starting on May 3 from 2pm New York time with buy-ins of $5.50, $55 and $530. This will be followed three hours later by a fixed-limit Badugi event with buy-ins starting from as low as eleven dollars.
The 2010 SCOOP will end with a two-day main event starting from 5pm New York time on May 16 guaranteeing prize pools of one, three and five million dollars respectively.
“What I find most exciting about the 2010 SCOOP is that players at all stake levels get an opportunity to play in a championship-level event,” said Bryan Slick, Poker Room Manager for PokerStars.com.
