GalaBingo.co.uk has revealed that it awarded more money on February 27 last year than on any other day and is celebrating with a Lucky 7 promotion.

Leading Alderney-licensed online bingo site GalaBingo.co.uk has revealed that February 27 is the luckiest day of the year after it admitted to rewarding more money on that day in 2009 than on any other.
The online bingo site also revealed that the luckiest forenames in 2009 were Julie and David closely followed by Susan and Paul.
To further understand the contributing factors that make a person particularly lucky, GalaBingo.co.uk commissioned a poll and found that three Britons would go as far as changing their name by deed poll if it meant that their luck was guaranteed. The study also revealed that nearly half of UK residents thought that their name influenced their personality for the better.
“Certain names such as Julie and David do seem to be perceived as luckier than others because they have more positive associations,” said Professor Geoff Beattie.
“If you have a name that’s consistently seen positively then good things will happen to you and you will seem lucky. In other words, lucky names might well be those that have the biggest unconscious positive influence on those around us. Imagine the long-term influence of this positive ‘halo effect’, credit is given, even where credit may not be due.”
To celebrate its results, GalaBingo.co.uk and Gala TV will be hosting some special games themed on luck this Saturday. The site is set to give away a total of £9,000 between 11:55 in the morning and eleven o’clock in the evening courtesy of its Lucky 7 game while Gala TV will reward a bonus worth £77 to anyone that calls house on a ball that ends in the number seven between 5pm and 1am.
“We hope that we can make February 27 as lucky as it was in 2009 and even more people playing bingo get the chance to become one of our 500,000 monthly winners,” said Lesley Hall, Online Public Relations Manager for GalaBingo.co.uk.
