Special range of promotions from leading online poker site have awarded added prizes of almost one million dollars.

Leading online poker site PokerStars.com celebrated dealing its 40 billionth hand last week and marked the occasion with a series of special promotions that awarded added prizes of almost one million dollars.
The landmark hand was dealt on February 19 on a $2/$4 no-limit hold'em table with a Swedish player using the pseudonym ‘Senecady' picking up $24,000 for winning the milestone event along with a pot worth $350.
The Isle Of Man-licensed domain revealed that every other player at the momentous table also walked away with a prize based on the number of points that they had collected over their previous 40 hands with American competitors ‘thecooler992’ and ‘zawaaa’ walking away with $15,590. Competitor ‘jeckjeck’ from Sweden was awarded $12,400 for taking part in the special hand while Joe Hahn from Holland and French player ‘13_Xerxes_13’ are now richer to the tune of $1,500.
In the run-up to its achievement, PokerStars.com marked 400 milestone hands by awarding 2,200 players with in excess of $779,000 over eight days including 155 prizes of at least $1,000.
In addition to its milestone hand prizes, PokerStars.com rewarded sit and go players with over $160,000 in cash with a further 147,000 customers entering the site’s eight $40,000 tournaments for a buy-in of just 40 points.
The promotion ended on Sunday with the site’s largest ever Sunday Million tournament and saw Swiss player ‘RichieRichZH’ walk away with a top prize of $1.14 million in cash. This special event attracted 36,169 entrants to generate a prize pool of $7.23 million, which made it the world’s fourth largest online tournament behind PokerStars.com’s last three World Championship Of Online Poker main events. For finishing as runner-up after almost 13 hours of play, ‘lankeshwar’ won $754,774 while ‘petinvest7’ took away $506,366 for third.
