WPT rolls into Vegas
Tour nears finals next year after a stop at the Bellagio
Monday 20th December 2004
The eighth World Poker Tour event began this week at the Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas, with players battling it out for a $1,795,218 first prize.
A total fund of $5,470,800 is up for grabs for the 376 players registered – an increase of over $2 million and 50 players on last year’s event. Top players - including Annie Duke, Gus Hansen and Chris Ferguson – will be closely watched by large public galleries, who are enjoying free admission to the event.
As usual the winner of the tournament will advance to the tour’s World Championship, taking place at the same venue in April next year.
