Ongame searching for more Italian partners

Bwin subsidiary is looking to increase the liquidity in its new online poker network for Italy after launching in February with seven partners.

Monday 22nd March 2010

Ongame Network Limited, a subsidiary of Bwin Interactive Entertainment AG and a leading provider of online poker software, has revealed that it is looking to further increase the liquidity in its Italian network. The Gibraltar-based firm launched its Italian network in February with seven partners, BetPro.it, Bwin, Casino Di Venezia, Fast Poker, Gioco Digitale, Gmatica and SportingBet.it, and offers players a range of sit and go games alongside scheduled and multi-table tournaments. Ongame revealed that the joint liquidity present in its new network, which now stands at over five million players, was enabled by the successful migration of its partners to the P5 Poker Engine software platform. “The adaptability of the P5 Poker Engine to power both regional and global networks is showcased by Ongame Network Italy and we continue to work closely with the Italian authorities as we prepare for the anticipated introduction of cash games,” said Martin Lerby from Ongame. However, Ongame revealed that it is ‘looking to further increase this regional liquidity by welcoming more partners holding Italian operating licenses’. It stated that the new network is monitored by Italian authorities and is in full compliance with online gaming regulations.
