Leading American gaming technology and services firm GTECH Corporation has received a Capability Maturity Model Integration Development (CMMI-Dev) level four rating from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) for its Global Technology Solutions Support organisation.
Providence-based GTECH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Italy’s Lottomatica, one of the world’s largest commercial lottery operators, and stated that it received its initial SEI maturity level four rating in 2006 with this latest appraisal confirming its ongoing commitment to process improvement.
“The latest CMMI-Dev level four rating is a testament to the dedication and willingness of GTECH’s Global Technology Solutions organisation to constantly excel and improve,” said Matthew Whalen, Senior Vice-President for GTECH’s Global Technology Solutions.
“This achievement affirms GTECH’s commitment to continual process improvements and implementation of industry best practices throughout our organisation. GTECH’s adherence to this model ensures the highest level of quality when providing solutions for our customers.”
GTECH stated that CMMI-Dev is an internationally-acknowledged approach that employs best practices to appraise, recognise and guide process improvements throughout an entire organisation. It focuses exclusively on software and systems engineering and is a framework that defines a set of objective standards for assessing an organisation’s full-range of engineering and organisational processes.
The firm revealed that its maturity rating was subsequently confirmed by Systems And Software Consortium Incorporated via an appraisal performed in accordance with its appraisal Method For Process Improvement class-A methodology.
