New mobile poker game from Candywriter offers five competitive rounds featuring 18 hounds alongside a walrus and fox.

Owners of iPhone and iPod Touch units can now get a comic yet competitive take on mobile poker with the new Dogs Playing Poker 1.0 application from American software firm Candywriter.
The Seattle-based firm revealed that Dogs Playing Poker 1.0 has been designed for Texas hold'em novices, advanced poker players and dog lovers alike and allows competitors to select 20 unique opponents with vastly different playing styles over five rounds.
Candywriter stated that the application’s rounds span a junkyard, dog pound, train car, den and the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant and users will face 18 tough hounds while a fox and walrus have also been included in the line-up.
“Poker novices can quickly get up-to-speed on the ins and outs of Texas hold'em by completing the built-in tutorial,” read a statement from the Washington firm.
“Experienced players can enjoy the diverse poker playing traits of the various characters and the hundreds of poker ‘tells’ bundled into the game.
“Dogs Playing Poker 1.0 is loaded with extra touches that range from the ability to pet and poke the dogs to a feature called Every Dog Has Its Day that tracks the cleverest canine in the world on any given day.”
Dogs Playing Poker 1.0 is available for $1.99 through Apples’ App Store under the games category. There is also a light version allowing players unrestricted access to the first round.
