In Canada, the troubled Ontario Lottery And Gaming (OLG) Corporation has announced that its current Chief Information Officer, Tom Marinelli, has been appointed to the post of Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The OLG was created in 2000 when the Ontario Lottery Corporation was merged with the Ontario Casino Corporation and is responsible for the management of the province's lotteries and casinos.
The announcement from the Crown corporation was made by Paul Godfrey, Chairman for OLG, after current Chief Executive Officer Bohodar Rubashewsky declared that he would be returning to the Ontario Public Service next month while the search for his permanent replacement is ongoing.
“I would like to thank Tom for agreeing to serve as Acting Chief Executive Officer,” said Godfrey.
“Tom has distinguished himself as a model of dedication and excellence throughout his 18 years at OLG.
“The Board Of Directors would also like to thank Bohodar for leading OLG for the past ten months. His strong leadership and insight have been invaluable to the Board. I wish him the very best in his future pursuits.”
Before his stint as Chief Information Officer, Marinelli worked in other senior positions at OLG including Vice-President Of Gaming Support, Vice-President Of Corporate Business Optimisation and Information Technology Chief Technology Officer.
