Operator of the Canadian Poker Tour is set to back the upcoming Canadian Ladies Open Poker Championships.

Global media and entertainment firm HeadsUp Entertainment International Incorporated has signed a partnership deal with the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) to promote the upcoming Canadian Ladies Open Poker Championships.
HeadsUp operates the Canadian Poker Tour along with Canadian Poker Player Magazine and stated that the $550 buy-in Canadian Ladies Open Poker Championships will take place on August 22 at the Deerfoot Inn And Casino in Calgary, Alberta, from noon and is expected to attract a sell-out 250 player field.
“The partnership with the LIPS tour is a great affiliation for both companies as exposure of our national championship to female players around the world will enhance all elements we have built into this event,” said Kelly Kellner, President and Chief Executive Officer for Calgary-based HeadsUp.
The event is one of eleven for this year’s Canadian Open Poker Championship Series and will be hosted by spokesperson and professional player Lacey Jones.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with LIPS and the Canadian Poker Tour in this capacity,” said Jones.
“LIPS has paved the way for many women in poker and is one of the most respected brands in women's poker today. I look forward to meeting women across Canada that love the sport as much as I do.”
