Poker players from around the world are expected to attend the seven-day tournament being held at the Resorts World Manila complex.

Poker players from all over the world are being advised to mark the last week of August in their calendars as the Manila stop of the Asian Poker Tour returns with a main event buy-in set at approximately $2,700.
The seven-day poker event will begin on August 23 from the recently-opened Resorts World Manila complex and also feature eight side events including a high-roller tournament, a pot-limit Omaha event and the Asian Poker Tour’s very own Greed competition.
Last year’s main event and its $185,000 prize were won by Filipino professional player Neil Arce, which gave the country a big boost as it was the first time a local had won an international poker tournament held in the Asian nation. Arce has confirmed that he will be returning to defend his title at this year’s main event against what is expected to be a tough field of top pros from around the world.
Numerous leading online poker rooms and networks such as PKR.com, PartyPoker.com and the iPoker Network have begun holding qualifiers for the Manila stop while land-based satellites are being held at Resorts World Manila and select locations throughout the world.
The new Resorts World Manila development is located across the street from Terminal Three of Ninoy Aquino International Airport and features world-class dining alongside a sprawling casino and plenty of special events for the whole family. Accommodation should also be a special experience as the complex features Maxim’s Hotel, the only six-star facility of its kind in the Philippines, as well as the five-star Manila Marriott Hotel.
