Online poker players from around the world went head-to-head in a special promotion from PKR.com for the chance to win $250 in cash.

Leading Alderney-licensed online poker site PKR.com has announced that French player Ali 'Flopimagik' Guerouane won its recent Facebook World Cup promotion and pocketed a cash prize of over $250.
PKR.com revealed that its Facebook World Cup contest consisted of 19 nations alongside one group made up of players from the rest of the world battling it out to secure homeland glory through a series of qualifying tournaments. The countries were awarded prize pools based on the number of Facebook fans they attracted with the top 20 players from each group going on to represent their nation in the final.
Guerouane overcame 679 other French players to win his group and bagged himself $165 in the process. In the final, the Seine Saint Denis resident went head-to-head with 19 French players in addition to 231 from around the world to scoop the $250 first prize and the title of PKR.com Facebook World Cup champion.

“France had the second largest number of players in the PKR.com Facebook World Cup so he did well to get through the qualifying stage let alone the final.
