Two Day Poker festival to return to London’s Leicester Square this September
Thursday 8th July 2010
8 July 2010 (London, UK) The dates for Poker in the Park IV have been confirmed as 2nd and 3rd September 2010, when thousands of poker fans will descend on London’s Leicester Square to celebrate all things poker.
Last year, the free event attracted 20,000 people through its doors and gathered the interest of the mainstream media – a measure of the recent growth of poker in the UK. This year, the organisers have promised more marquees and more live poker tables in order to cope with demand. As well as live “sit-n-go’s” running around the clock, visitors can expect free strategy lectures from some of the world’s top players, autograph signings, heads-up tournaments on the latest electronic poker tables, cut price deals on the latest books and merchandise, surprise celebrity guests and more.
Poker in the Park forms part of the wider London Poker Festival, as London becomes the focus of the poker world this September, when big tournaments like the WPT London, the EPO and the WSOPE roll into town.
“Last year’s Poker in the Park went through the roof,” said festival organizer Michael Caselli. “A lot of people were impressed and have been beating down our door to be involved this year, and that puts us in the position to offer even more.”
