Leading events organiser Reed Exhibitions has announced that the fourth annual Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia trade show saw a seven percent year-on-year rise in attendance last month with attendees hailing from 55 jurisdictions.
The latest edition of G2E Asia was held from June 8 to 10 at The Venetian Macao and welcomed more than 4,500 industry professionals from nations as diverse as Australia, Great Britain, Cambodia, Germany, the United States, Hong Kong, India, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Reed stated that the rise in attendance reflected the ‘healthy expansion of gaming throughout the Asian region’ while revealing that the ‘number of attendees from China, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan increased significantly when compared to last year’s event’.
“The success of G2E Asia is just another sign that the Asian market is truly a centre for growth in the global gaming industry,” said Frank Fahrenkopf, President and Chief Executive Officer for the American Gaming Association, which co-organised this year’s event.
“The expansion and recent revenue reports in Macao and the opening of the two integrated resorts in Singapore have generated a great deal of excitement in the Asian gaming community and that buzz could certainly be felt at this year’s event.”
The show floor at G2E Asia featured 122 exhibitors, 30 percent of which were new to the event, hailing from 23 nations with Reed announcing that returning firms had already claimed 86 percent of the space available for next year’s trade fair.
“The G2E Asia show floor was, once again, the leading regional marketplace for cutting-edge gaming technologies and business solutions,” read a statement from Reed.
Reed revealed that conference programmes at the event experienced a 47 percent year-on-year increase in attendance with one of the most popular being the Global Markets Forum, which covered the development and operation of casino properties throughout the pan-Asia region.
Other events in Macao included the G2E Asia Poker Tournament, Roundtable Luncheon, Game Protection Seminar and Asia Visionary Award, which was presented to Len Ainsworth, Executive Chairman for Ainsworth Game Technology.
Next year’s G2E Asia show is scheduled to take place from June 7 to 9 at the same venue with those interested in visiting or exhibiting being encouraged to visit G2Easia.com for more information.
