As part of a successful sportsbook redesign Totesport have developed a custom range of live betting apps powered by live betting specialist Boolabus. The Betstream® product,
launched before the World Cup pulls together multiple data and content sources to create a dynamic real time betting experience for punters.
Brian MacSweeney, MD of Boolabus said “We were delighted to be selected by Totesport to be part of the relaunch of the sportsbook. Our experience of working with all the major
platforms and sports data providers counted for a lot on this project. The potent mix of data feeds and our advanced live content module puts Totesport.com customers in the best seat for all of their live football betting”.
The advanced football module is powered by rich real-time data and offers contextual and real-time promotion of the most relevant betting markets. This innovative approach aims to actively drive betting on higher margin, less popular markets. As an example of how it works, if a football player is awarded a yellow card the application will show the player’s profile, follow up with summary stats on bookings in the game so far and then close the
deal with a push on the booking points market. “Trader’s can write their own rules as to what they want to promote and when” said MacSweeney. “In a real-time environment it’s not enough for sportsbooks to list a huge number of markets and at best, adjust the order occasionally. We’re focused on driving betting volumes and margin and pushing the right
market at the right time. That’s what Betstream is about.”
The applications utilise data from Openbet, Betgenius and Sporting Services, the B2B arm of Sporting Index and there are plans to add even more data feeds in future. “Over the couple of years we’ve worked closely with the some of the leading third party suppliers and platforms to make it as easy as possible to get a great experience for the end user” says MacSweeney.
The Betstream marketing and promotional applications are deployed across the Totesport web site to drive traffic to the main live betting area. These promotional apps use data from the trading platform to automatically prioritise and promote the right events. “The combination of an extensive range of markets, the prominence given to live betting and an engaging and informative display of what is happening in the game has resulted in big increases in traffic to live betting events. Customer feedback has been really positive about our recent site changes and this is reflected in our In Play growth” said Keith Sharkey Head of business development for Totesport. The Racing Post seem to concur recently saying Totesport was the “Most Improved Website” during the world cup.
For Boolabus it’s been a busy year so far. “For some, live betting is the ‘new new thing’ but for us, it’s what we’ve always focused on and we will continue to focus on developing innovative products that deliver real revenues and a great user experience”.
