The poker-playing public is to be given the opportunity of selecting some the sport’s top performers over a number of categories courtesy of the British Poker Awards, which is due to be held in London in September.
The British Poker Awards will take place on September 13 at The Fox Poker Club In Association With PKR.com in advance of the World Series Of Poker Europe tournament and honour some of the game’s top achievers in a number of categories including Best Overall Poker Player, Best Cash Player, Best Tournament Player, Best Online Player and Best UK Card Room.
The venue for what is set to be a glittering ceremony is located on Shaftesbury Avenue in the heart of London’s famed West End and has been named after famous 18th Century British politician Charles Fox. It will have opened the month before occupying 6,500 square feet of space featuring seating for 200 players as well as a poker library, smoker’s deck and bar.
Winners are to be chosen largely by the public with voting scheduled to open from August 1 at TheBritishPokerAwards.com although some of the accolades have been designed to allow professional players the chance to cast a ballot for one of their peers.
The British Poker Awards is just one of the over 100 poker-themed events set to come to London in September with organisers revealing that tickets to attend what is sure to be a star-studded event are set to be made available to the general public ‘soon’.
