Leading American gaming technology and services firm GTECH Corporation has announced that it has been chosen to provide a ‘wide array’ of lottery technology and ongoing services to Polish lottery operator Totalizator Sportowy Sp.
Totalizator Sportowy is a government-owned firm based in Warsaw and the seven-year contract was awarded following a competitive procurement and is due to commence in December of 2011 containing three one-year extension options.
GTECH revealed that it has been Totalizator Sportowy’s online lottery technology and services provider since 1991 and will continue to maintain primary and backup data centres in the Polish capital.
“GTECH offered Totalizator Sportowy proven capabilities, products and quality of services that will meet the lottery’s vision for the future enabling it to respond to market challenges with accelerated innovation,” said Jaymin Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer for GTECH.
“We stand ready with the latest technology solutions that embrace creative new game content and distribution capabilities, solutions that will drive further growth and return more value to Totalizator Sportowy in the coming years.”
The new deal will see GTECH provide the Polish firm with a ‘comprehensive set of solutions including a central system conversion to the company’s Enterprise Series’ alongside approximately 12,500 GT1200 terminals while the existing communications network is to be upgraded ‘utilising the latest Internet protocol technologies’.
GTECH is also set to install its Enterprise Series MultiMedia technology in order to allow Totalizator Sportowy to manage, distribute and display multimedia content including games, advertising, transactions and messaging through a single point of control.
Finally, the American firm will supply Totalizator Sportowy with its Internet protocol-based Enterprise Series Connect software, which is a high volume and open standards network interface that allows a lottery’s transaction processing engine to connect with a multitude of sales channels and devices.
