The Brunson 10 team of hand-picked young poker players now has eight members after leading online casino DoylesRoom.com announced the inclusion of 23-year-old university student David ‘Doc’ Sands.
Every member of the team has been selected by American poker legend Doyle Brunson and tasked with representing DoylesRoom.com at leading tournaments around the world.
Sands joins fellow sponsored players Chris ‘Moorman1’ Moorman, Dani ‘ansky’ Stern, Dan ‘djk123’ Kelly, Alex ‘AJKHoosier1’ Kamberis, Amit ‘amak316’ Makhija, Steve ‘gboro780’ Gross and Zachary ‘CrazyZach’ Clark.
The Montana native had been competing with Daniel Kelly, Faraz Jaka and Michael Martin at this year’s World Series Of Poker (WSOP) for a spot on the sponsored team of young professionals and earned his place after cashing more times than his opponents.
The young player’s career earnings so far stand at $2.3 million after he cashed in five events at the 2010 WSOP for over $88,000. In the online world, Sands has victories in the $125,000 Guarantee and $150,000 Guaranteed events for $47,000 and $44,000 while he became the globe’s top-ranked player in January before subsequently taking down the $150,000 Guaranteed in April for $39,500.
