It’s the final night of UK TVs Big Brother 5 and William Hill is predicting an industry-wide handle in excess of £5 million – a record for a TV show. For those of you fortunate enough to live outside the UK, this year’s spectacle has had the lot: sex, violence, transgendered chain smokers swigging fish guts - and is being called ‘the Best Big Brother ever’ or a ‘cruel, tawdry freak show’, depending on one’s point of view.
Hills spokeswoman Jennie Prest said, 'The punters have found this show tastier than ever, despite some suggestions it is becoming more and more tasteless. In terms of the betting, Big Brother is more than twice as popular than other reality shows such as I'm A Celebrity and Pop Idol and with the frenzy of bets set to continue in to the final two days this is the biggest Big Brother yet!'
Portuguese transsexual, Nadia, is hot favourite to win tonight at 1-14. Muscleman, Jason, could be the dark horse, however: having been vilified throughout as the villain of the piece, he seems to have garnered some support over the last passed two weeks, and is now 13-2 second favourite.
