Online casino portal is urging members of the sportsbetting community around the world to stop making money from animal brutality.

Leading online casino information portal OnlineGamblingPal.com is urging members of the iGaming community to stop making money from sportsbetting activities that perpetuate cruelty to animals such as greyhound racing.
In addition, the site is urging those concerned about cruelty to racing dogs to sign a petition at ThePetitionSite.com/11/stop-the-abuse-of-greyhounds while additional information can be found at OnlineGamblingPal.com/sports-betting/greyhound-betting.
“I refuse to profit from greyhound betting and racing that perpetuates horrible and inhumane cruelty to racing dogs,” said Jack Mason from OnlineGamblingPal.com.
“Greyhound races and galgo hunting and the treatment that the dogs receive are more like scenes from a horror movie. I urge my colleagues to check their websites and remove any content that promotes, encourages or facilitates greyhound betting and racing.”
OnlineGamblingPal.com revealed that its research found that Spain is the biggest perpetrator of cruelty to dogs as the nation maintains a tradition of hunting with hounds. It stated that tens of thousands of dogs are killed for ‘no reason after the hunting season ends’ with Spaniards seeing these deaths as ‘entertainment’.
“The annual hanging of dogs is not an unusual event because the Spaniards don’t feel a special bond with the dogs and they don’t feel remorse at killing them,” read a statement from OnlineGamblingPal.com.
The portal revealed that the UK is ranked second in terms of cruelty to dogs even though £2.5 billion is spent each year on greyhound betting in England alone.
“In Ireland, excessive breeding is a well-known phenomenon with 80 percent of the dogs bred shipped to England and sold for hundreds and sometimes even thousands of Euros,” read the statement from OnlineGamblingPal.com.
“Greyhounds who don’t perform at racetracks are considered suitable test animals for laboratories and even universities.”
Third on the list is the United States although the portal revealed that the nation is ‘slowly showing positive signs of improvement’.
“Because of the economic crisis, racetracks are closing down and this means a lot of greyhounds have to be re-homed, while there aren’t enough owners,” read the statement from OnlineGamblingPal.com.
“The problem isn’t over yet, however, with over 20 racetracks remaining active. A lot of owners can’t feed their dogs while trainers are reluctant to speak up as it could cost them their jobs.
“OnlineGamblingPal.com calls upon the Spanish, British and Americans who approve or promote sports involving greyhounds and galgos to stop now. Websites that encourage betting on dog racing also have a moral responsibility.”
