Formula One driver Fernando Alonso is favourite to win this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest followed by Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull Racing.

Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso is being tipped to follow up his controversial win last weekend in Germany with another in Hungary as Formula One makes its way to Budapest for this Sunday’s race.
Alonso was allegedly gifted last weekend’s competition after teammate Felipe Massa was reportedly asked by Ferrari bosses to yield the lead and SportingBet.com is listing odds of 6/5 that the Spaniard will triumph this weekend at the historic Hungaroring.
Today is Alonso’s birthday and sees him turn 29 with Bwin.com offering odds of 8/5 that the Oviedo-born double world champion will celebrate by triumphing at the Hungarian Grand Prix while StanJames.com is going with 13/8.
Slightly longer, bet365.com, PaddyPower.com, Betfair.com and EuroSportBet.co.uk have Alonso at odds of 15/8 to repeat his 2003 feat and win in Hungary while punters can get 2/1 at VictorChandler.com, WilliamHill.com, BoyleSports.com, Coral.co.uk, BlueSq.com, BetFred.com, Ladbrokes.com, Bodog.com and 888Sport.com.
The birthday boy has won only two races so far this season, Germany and the opening encounter in Bahrain, and is lagging well behind in the Driver’s Championship. To have any hope of winning a third title, he must achieve victory in Hungary and SkyBet.com currently shows odds of 11/5 that he will do just that followed by ExtraBet.com showing 12/5.
Despite taking pole-position six times already this season, 23-year-old Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull Racing has only won two races and sits in joint third spot in the Driver’s Championship with 136 points alongside teammate Mark Webber. He is being offered at odds of 15/8 by ExtraBet.com to win the Hungarian Grand Prix followed by WilliamHill.com showing 2/1.
This is only Vettel’s third full season in Formula One and he has suffered retirements in his previous pair of races in Budapest. However, EuroSportBet.co.uk is going with odds of 21/10 that the German will put this behind him to record his first triumph in Hungary followed by PaddyPower.com with 11/5 and Coral.co.uk, BetFred.com, Bodog.com, SportingBet.com, SkyBet.com, Bwin.com, Bet365.com, Ladbrokes.com and VictorChandler.com offering 9/4.
Following Budapest, Formula One will take a three-week break before meeting up again in Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgium Grand Prix and BoyleSports.com is offering bettors odds of 12/5 that Vettel will go into the breather with a win while Betfair.com shows 247/100 and BlueSq.com, 888Sport.com and StanJames.com list 5/2.
Other selected odds on who will win the Hungarian Grand Prix include British driver Lewis Hamilton at 6/1 with WilliamHill.com, BoyleSports.com, Coral.co.uk, PaddyPower.com and EuroSportBet.co.uk while BlueSq.com, StanJames.com, SportingBet.com, Bwin.com, VictorChandler.com, 888Sport.com, Bodog.com, ExtraBet.com and Bet365.com are going with 7/1.
Fellow British driver and reigning Formula One champion Jenson Button is shown at odds of 12/1 to win this event for the second time following 2006’s triumph at Ladbrokes.com, EuroSportBet.co.uk, BoyleSports.com, Coral.co.uk, SkyBet.com and WilliamHill.com with StanJames.com, BetFred.com, Bodog.com, BlueSq.com, VictorChandler.com, PaddyPower.com and 888Sport.com listing 14/1.
