Vis iTV announce a new agreement to distribute I-Race online
New partner is an as yet unnamed global bookmaker
Monday 2nd August 2004
Vis iTV has confirmed that it has formed an agreement with a global bookmaker, which will enable the distribution of its prime product I-Race to an existing network of online betting sites. I-Race is a virtual horse racing product which allows punters to gamble on the simulated races. Currently available on Sky digital, this new alliance will see the product developed so it will be accessible as an internet game.
The Scottish company is unable to reveal the name of its new partner until later this week, but did reveal that they expect this new agreement to result in several million pounds worth of net revenue in the first year of the new venture. It is not the only venture that Vis iTV is working on- plans are in place to make I-Race available online in Britain by January, and then available in betting shops throughout the UK.
Earlier this year, the company also made headway in the States by forming an agreement with Youbet.com to distribute I-Race in a fantasy format- a non-gambling version of the product throughout the US online. This version allows players to manage and train a stable of horses, and then race on a variety of virtual grounds.
Simon Grieve the Chief Exec of Vis iTV has said the next aim is to form an alliance with a company that could assist with the distribution of the game throughout the Pacific rim. With £6 million being invested so far in the development of I-Race there are high hopes for the game’s development and success on a global level- these new alliances are proving to be significant steps in achieving the company’s aims.
