New Channel receives vital support from UK trainers

The Horse Racing Channel is gathering more momentum with the important news that the National Trainers’ Federation has thrown its full support behind the project. What began as a trot is now a distinct canter towards the reestablishment of live, comprehensive horse racing coverage in the U.K since the demise of AttheRaces last March.

The NTF said in a statement: 'The National Trainers’ Federation has decided the time is right to declare its support for The Horse Racing Channel to land the media rights of the remaining undecided racecourses…only THRC will allow racecourses to control their rights and the way they are exploited and only THRC will allow the value of those rights to remain in the industry.”

'From the start we instinctively felt that THRC's bid was the right way forward for British racing,” added Rupert Arnold, chief executive of the NTF. Online bookmakers, who rely heavily on racing coverage to attract punters, I’m sure, will agree.
