Leading online poker site PokerStars.com celebrated dealing its 50 billionth hand this week by awarding one micro-stakes no-limit hold’em player with a cash prize of well over $56,000.
The online poker player uses the pseudonym ‘tbvle’ and took home $50,500 in cash on Wednesday after his pocket queens were enough to triumph against five others in a $0.02/$0.05 hand.
The competitor also walked away with an additional $5,640 for the points he had earned in the previous 50 hands alongside $46.25 for winning the game for a total windfall of over $56,186.
Every one of the milestone hand’s participants took home $500 in cash plus $500 for each point that they had earned over the previous 50 hands at that table in addition to free entry into the $5,200 buy-in World Championship Of Online Poker on PokerStars.com, which is scheduled to start on Sunday.
As part of its 50 billion hand celebrations, PokerStars.com also rewarded players in every millionth hand beginning from 49.7 billion. It revealed that it will continue to offer promotions for sit-and-go players while three special $50,000 freerolls will be held for depositors on Saturday.
“It's not very surprising that the 50 billionth hand took place on a micro-stakes table,” read a statement from the Isle Of Man-licensed site.
“The vast majority of the hands played on PokerStars.com are no-limit hold'em games at the $.01/$.02, $.02/$.05 and $.05/$.10 levels and ‘tbvle’ is no stranger to those games. According to PokerTableRatings.com, he's logged more than 288,000 hands over the last 16 months, averaging roughly 600 hands per day. He's been dealt into one of every 86,805 hands since PokerStars.com dealt its 25 billionth hand in February of 2009.”
“Never had 'tbvle' wanted pocket queens to hold up more than in PokerStars.com’s 50 billionth hand.”
