Valencia and Man Utd closely matched

Under-strength English side is travelling to Spain tomorrow evening to take on Valencia in the latest round of the Champions League.

Tuesday 28th September 2010

An under-strength Manchester United is travelling to Spain tomorrow evening to meet Valencia in its second group stage match of this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign with numerous online sportsbooks uncertain who to back. Valencia finished third in La Liga last season to qualify for the Champions League and its listed at odds of 6/4 to beat Manchester United on Wednesday evening by StanJames.com. However, the side has won none of its previous five Champions League matches at home with ExtraBet.com showing ‘Els Taronja’ at odds of 8/5 to emerge victorious while 888Sport.com, BlueSq.com, VictorChandler.com and PaddyPower.com are offering 13/8. Slightly longer, BoyleSports.com, bet365.com, WilliamHill.com, Ladbrokes.com and Bwin.com show odds of 17/10 on a win for the Spanish side at the Estadio Mestalla followed by BetDaq.com with 31/18. The two teams have met four times in previous Champions League campaigns with Betfair.com showing odds of 33/19 on Valencia managing to win, which is something it has not managed in the past against Manchester United. At the far end of the spectrum are SkyBet.com SportingBet.com, Bodog.com, BetFred.com and Coral.co.uk offering odds of 7/4 on a home win while WBX.com and ToteSport.com shows 9/5. Defeat at Bayern Munich in its final away match last season ended a run of 16 matches without loss on the road for Manchester United in the Champions League and SportingBet.com shows Sir Alex Ferguson’s men at odds of 27/20 to emerge victorious. Manchester United will be without the services of striker Wayne Rooney and midfielder Ryan Giggs in Spain with Coral.co.uk, Bwin.com, ToteSport.com, SkyBet.com, Ladbrokes.com and Bodog.com offering odds of 6/4 on an away win. Longer still are BetFred.com and ExtraBet.com with odds of 8/5 on a Manchester United win while BoyleSports.com, 888Sport.com, BlueSq.com and PaddyPower.com show 13/8. At the far end of the spectrum is bet365.com showing odds of 17/10 on a Manchester United win Wednesday night followed by WilliamHill.com and VictorChandler.com with 7/4, BetDaq.com offering 24/13 and WBX.com and Betfair.com listing 31/16. Manchester United has drawn five of its last seven Champions League matches against Spanish opposition with WilliamHill.com listing odds of 2/1 on tomorrow’s match finishing in a tie. The English side kicked off this season’s Champions League campaign with a draw against Rangers at Old Trafford and ExtraBet.com is showing odds of 21/10 on a similar result Wednesday evening before bet365.com, Bwin.com, SportingBet.com, Bodog.com, BlueSq.com, BoyleSports.com, 888Sport.com and BetFred.com offering 11/5. At the far end of the spectrum are BetDaq.com, VictorChandler.com, StanJames.com and WBX.com listing odds of 9/4 on a draw while Betfair.com, PaddyPower.com, ToteSport.com and Coral.co.uk show 23/10 and Ladbrokes.com and SkyBet.com show 12/5.
