Fourth LAPT season will kick off from Brazil on February 16 and feature an inaugural $1,000 buy-in stop in Colombia.

Wednesday 29th December 2010

Leading online poker site PokerStars.com has released details of the fourth season of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT), which is scheduled to begin in February from Sao Paulo, Brazil. In addition to Brazil, LAPT Season Four will see additional $1,000 buy-in stops in Chile, Peru and Argentina as well as a tournament in the Colombian capital of Bogota for the first time. Next year’s LAPT will begin in Brazil on February 16 before finishing on August 7 in Colombia and also see the addition of the LAPT Awards, which will recognise the best player performances across the entire series in a similar vein to the European Poker Tour Awards. In addition, PokerStars.com has announced that the third season of its Australia and New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) will get under way in Adelaide from February 2 to 6. Last season took in eight events across Australia and New Zealand with a combined prize pool of $4,318,979. The Isle of Man-licensed online poker domain declared that this series of the ANZPT will take in Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Queenstown, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney twice with the ‘possibility of more to be announced’. “There is also a Player of the Year competition, which will reward the highest points-scoring player over the entire ANZPT with a PokerStars.net sponsorship package to four Asia Pacific Poker Tour events and either the Aussie Millions Main Event or the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure main event,” read a statement from PokerStars.com.
