Andrew is the most popular male name in UK for online poker and casino players according to researchers at InterCasino.com. A recent research project has analysed the membership database of one of the leading UK online casinos.

The research revealed that Andrew is the most popular UK male player’s name in the London area, as well as in Birmingham, Cheshire, Devon, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Middlesex, Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear and Scotland. It’s also one of the top three male names in Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Sussex, Hampshire, Essex and Lancashire. The other two most popular names are Dave and Paul.

In terms of where most UK gamers live, the InterCasino.com database suggests that it is in the South of England where 23% of all UK members log-on from. Amazingly the Capital alone provides the second most populated area, with 12.2% followed by the Northwest with 12%.

The database review also revealed that it is the 18-35 year old market who are the keenest amongst the population, with over 63% of members in this category.

Unsurprisingly, Saturdays are the most popular day for people to play online at the casino, according to InterCasino's research project. Overall during the day, from 6 pm until 12pm over 50% of members log on and the peak time is at 8pm.
