PokerStars.com begins refunding American players

Leading online poker site has made arrangements with an American bank that will see it return all monies owed to US-based customers.

Thursday 28th April 2011

Leading online poker site PokerStars.com has revealed that it has made arrangements with an American bank and has begun the process of returning funds to former customers based in the United States. Isle of Man-licensed PokerStars.com stated that the ongoing process is legal under its recent agreement with the US Department of Justice and that the funds to cover these withdrawal requests ‘are readily available’. “All player deposits for players outside the US are also completely safe and secure,” read a statement from PokerStars.com. “PokerStars.com has always held all such funds in accounts that are segregated from company assets in compliance with the strict licensing laws of the Isle of Man. “The company continues to operate outside the US under the PokerStars.com domain name and retains its position as the world’s number-one poker site.”
