PXP ‘In Game Betting’ Roll Out Continues
PXP Play by Play Wagering introduces ‘in game betting’ at CyberSportsBook.com
Thursday 17th March 2005
Software provider PXP Play by Play has launched its new ‘in game betting’ product through their very first licensee, CyberSportsBook.com. The launch date is set for March 17, 2005 and the start of the NCAA March Madness tournament.
PXP introduced the fast and furious play by play wagering during the football season last November. The football version prompted the player to answer a few questions prior to the ball being snapped during a game: Would it be a run? A completed incomplete pass?
Payoffs were variable. If the down of the game was second and one yard to go for a first down, selecting a running play would bring a return of approximately twenty five cents on the dollar. However, if a bettor correctly selected a completed pass, the reward was a payoff of $2.00 for every one dollar wagered.
Commenting on the release of the PXP Basketball version, CEO Ron Tarter said, ‘We realize that America loves March Madness and we wanted to unveil this incredible betting feature to celebrate their passion for the game of college basketball.’
When the game resumes after a timeout, the PXP system will prompt bettors to guess how much the next basket will be worth: 1, 2 or 3. Alternatively, you can predict a blocked shot or a steal. Wagers can range from a minimum of $1.00 to a maximum of $100.00.
‘Many bettors play office pools or straight wagers and many times their team is getting beaten and defeat is a foregone conclusion,’ added Tarter ‘With PXP, our customer now has the opportunity to win some instant cash and this will keep the game interesting.’
