Online Casino Bids For Naming Rights To New Giants Stadium

EnglishHarbour.com announces tender for the naming rights to the New York Giants stadium

Friday 1st April 2005

Online casino, English Harbour.com, has announced an offer to the New York Giants to pay for naming rights to the NFL team’s proposed new stadium. With negotiations on the stadium deal between the team and the state breaking down, English Harbour hopes the offer will contribute necessary funding for the project that could help finalize a stadium agreement.

Executives from English Harbour.com initially contacted the Giants about the naming rights for the new $700 million stadium back on February 23rd, but are yet to be contacted by the team. Since the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority publicly announced its intention to offer a naming rights package on the entire Meadowlands complex, English Harbour.com now intends to make a second bid for naming rights on the proposed stadium and other Meadowlands properties.

‘Our intention to purchase the naming rights of the new stadium have been made clear to the Giants, but now we feel it’s time to reach out to the state,’ said Paul Sudolski, President of English Harbour.com ‘With the two sides at a standstill after five months of negotiations, this additional revenue stream could not only defray construction costs the Giants are paying, but would also alleviate any burdens put on tax payers for this project. Our ultimate goal is to contribute in any way possible to help keep the Giants in New Jersey where they belong.’

Executives from English Harbour.com now await the call to travel to New Jersey to meet executives of the Giants, the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and acting Governor Richard J. Codey to discuss this proposal further.
