PokerHeaven.com player hits IPN Bad Beat Jackpot

Online poker competitor has collected $640,696 in cash this week despite crashing out holding four Kings.

Friday 29th July 2011

One Finnish online poker player is celebrating this week after taking home a cash prize of $640,696 (€442,954) courtesy of PokerHeaven.com and the Bad Beat Jackpot from the International Poker Network (IPN). Available at numerous other online poker sites including VirginPoker.com, YahooPoker.com and InterPoker.com, the Bad Beat Jackpot offered by the IPN broke the one million euro mark earlier this month and continued to climb until being hit at $1,831,426 (€1,265,583). Another competitor known as ‘7Adelaida7’ won the hand with quad Aces and took home and additional $320,391 (€221,477) while the seven other players that had participated in the game each collected $45,766 (€31,639). “I had two Kings and all the money went in pre-flop,” said ‘OmgoMgomGo’, who had joined PokerHeaven.com earlier this year. “Once I hit my quads and saw the second Ace come on the river I was hoping that my opponent had hit their one outer. I was so happy when I realised it had happened. I still cannot believe it. “The atmosphere at the table when it hit was great and I would like to thank all of the players and the PokerHeaven.com staff for their best wishes. As for what I am going to do with the cash, I am planning to buy a house, a car and will certainly be partying hard.” The Bad Beat Jackpot available via the IPN has already been reset to $360,000 (€251,200) and will continue to grow until another competitor crashes out holding four tens or better. “These are exciting times at the IPN,” said William Scott, Vice-President for interactive gambling software and services provider GTECH G2. “We’ve raised the bar with a massive new world record and, with our investment of two million euros into the IPN, we are committed to delivering even bigger promotions and tournaments to our players.”
