Despite capturing his fourth Masters, Tiger is a favourite to finish 2005 with only one major championship at 10/11 odds (i.e., win $1.00 for every $1.10 bet). The odds that Tiger finishes the PGA season with two majors under his belt are a close second at 17/10 odds, while the odds that Woods finishes just one title short of completing the Grand Slam are a respectable 7/1. Tiger fans can earn the most for their money if Woods makes history by winning the Grand Slam, earning $38.00 for every $1.00 bet.
“Even though Woods’ remains a long shot to win all four majors this year, bettors are taking their chances on him winning the Grand Slam,” said Simon Noble of PinnacleSports.com. “Nearly 30 percent of all bets taken on this proposition to date have been placed on Tiger capturing all four major titles and we stand to payout much more on this than any other option.”
