$3.3 Million to be Won on the Next Ladbrokes Poker Cruise

Qualifiers begin for Ladbrokespoker.com’s second annual Poker Cruise

Tuesday 3rd May 2005

Qualification for Ladbrokespoker.com’s second annual Poker Cruise have begun, with $5 online tournament entries providing the chance for entrants and their partners to cruise the Caribbean for ten days and walk away with a share of the $3.3 million prize fund.

With three times the number of players and five times the prize value of last year’s main on board tournament, the ‘Zenith’ sets sail on 14th January 2006 from Miami, spending ten days navigating the Caribbean via Antigua, St Marteen, Labadee (private island) and the British Virgin Islands.

Direct buy-ins for a cabin on the Ladbrokes Poker cruise will cost $11,000, but Ladbrokes is offering customers the chance to win a place for as little as $5 via one of its online qualification tournaments, starting on 11th May at www.ladbrokespoker.com. There will also be a comprehensive programme of ‘freeroll’ entries, including over $1m worth of places for regular Ladbrokes cash game and tournament players.

Last year’s maiden voyage across the Mediterranean saw 74 year old veteran Eric Dalby beat the best players in Europe to be crowned champion. Eric entered the competition via a $2 qualifier, and walked off with the $250,000 first prize.

'The response to last years Cruise was really positive, so we thought we would really go for it this time,” said Albert Tapper, General Manager of Ladbrokespoker.com. “That’s why we are chartering an entire luxury ship with 700 cabins sailing 10 days around the Caribbean. Ladbrokespoker.com is a big online community and this is the ultimate community event for the players. They play each other every day but rarely do they meet in the flesh – and never in such lavish surroundings. The quality of this holiday, the poker and the companionship will make it awesome party for all involved.”
