Deadline Nears for 2005 College Poker Championship Tickets

25,000 students compete to become World’s Best College No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Player

May 8th marks the final day for students from around the world to register and compete for the title of the World’s Best College No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Player.

As the 2nd Annual College Poker Championship (www.collegepokerchampionship.com) draws to a close, 25,000 students from more than 2,300 campuses are battling it out for the title and their share of the $135,000 prize pool.

The 2nd Annual College Poker Championship (CPC) is open to registered college and university students worldwide. The free online tournament is available to registered college and university students worldwide and graduate school and community college students are also eligible. CPC provides an exciting and stimulating environment for students to win donations to their favourite charities and receive scholarships that allow students to further their academic endeavours.

The lucky student finally crowned Champion on May 8th will be awarded a $41,000 academic scholarship. Contestants placing 1st-10th will earn a $1,000 donation to be awarded to the charity or organization of their choice. Those placing 2-10 will share a $53,300 scholarship prize pool, while those placing 11-80 will share a prize pool of $15,500 of scholarship awards.

To qualify for the Semi-final Tournament, students only need to register, online at www.collegepokerchampionship.com and participate in one of the remaining weekly tournaments held each Sunday through May 8th. There is no fee to participate in the tournament and the top 10 percent each week advance to the Semi-final Tournament.
