Sportsbook.com favors Carrie Underwood as next American Idol
Recent upsets add to the excitement of gambling on the reality show

Sportsbook.com is listing Carrie Underwood as the next American Idol, a position she’s held for several weeks. Her current odds are 6-5 – still well ahead of Bo Bice at 14-5 and Vonzell Solomon at 7-2.
Constantine Maroulis, who was considered a likely contender, was eliminated on Wednesday night in a shocking turn of events.
“This season of American Idol has been interesting to say the least,” said Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director, Sportsbook.com. “There has been a lot of controversy and some of the stronger contestants have already been eliminated, which definitely makes it harder to predict the winner.”
The other two remaining contestants are far out of contention according to Sportsbook.com. Anthony Federov is currently sitting at 10-1 and Scott Savol at 40-1.
“There are some contestants here that don’t seem to have a hope of staying in but week after week they somehow manage to stick it out,” says Czajkowski. “That’s what happens when you leave the voting to the viewers.”
