The recently re-launched online poker domain at AmericasCardRoom.eu has announced that its bad beat jackpot was triggered recently and saw one fortunate competitor take home over $175,000 in cash despite losing a pot with four aces.
US-friendly AmericasCardRoom.eu purchased DoylesRoom.com in October and revealed that its bad beat jackpot had grown to over $500,000 when it was hit by a competitor using the pseudonym ‘Poobah911’ on February 7.
The unlucky winner, who has only opened his account days before, saw his four aces topped by the straight flush of ‘toptrainer’ but still collected $175,232 while the hand’s victor left the table with $116,809.
“The latest bad beat jackpot win will go down in AmericasCardRoom.eu as legendary,” said Michael Harris from AmericasCardRoom.eu.
“Not only did a new player pop our $500,000 bad beat jackpot but sharing in the prize pool is one of our frequent bad beat jackpot winners proving that anyone can win this game.”
AmericasCardRoom.eu stated that the winner of any one of its bad beat jackpot losing hands stands to win 20 percent of the total pot while those that have participated in the same dealt game share ten percent with 30 percent returning to reseed the next prize, which now stands at $195,000.
Sharing in the ten percent this time around and pocketing $14,605 was ‘Word Son’, who is now a three-time bad beat jackpot winner after taking home $37,224 in December before banking $8,089 later that same month.
