Trio of new members for the Social Gaming Association

AbZorba Games, Bally Technologies and Slingo will additionally sit on trade group’s Executive Committee in order to help steer future policies.

The Social Gaming Association has a trio of new members after online casino games developers AbZorba Games, Slingo and Bally Technologies joined its ranks. Established to ‘protect and further the legal, regulatory and commercial interests of the social gaming industry’, the Social Gaming Association stated that the three will additionally sit on its Executive Committee and help to drive policy direction, creation and implementation procedures. “I'm delighted to welcome all three members on to the Executive Committee,” said Stuart Tilly, Director for the Social Gaming Association. “Their combined breadth and depth of knowledge of the social games space is going to be invaluable in the pursuit of our objectives and I am very excited about working with them going forward.” The Social Gaming Association has also confirmed that Melissa Blau from iGaming Capital and Steve Donoughue have agreed to serve in advisory capacities as it looks to further promote its long-term goals and establish and maintain dialogue with regulators and other key policy makers in various jurisdictions. “It's widely recognised that the social games industry must demonstrate a desire to self-regulate and I firmly support the Social Gaming Association's vision of formulating a socially responsible code of conduct for the vast majority of companies out there who want to build, create and employ a fun, safe and protected gaming environment,” said Andrew Hughes, Chief Executive Officer for AbZorba Games. “Social gaming is an area receiving intense scrutiny from within the online and traditional gaming sectors,” said John Connelly, Business Development Vice-President for Bally Technologies. “Bally Technologies is committed to supporting the evolution of the industry in a manner consistent with the demands of our customers. This association will provide a platform from which various segments of the industry can voice their opinions in an organised and productive fashion [and] Bally is proud to be part of this initiative.” “Social games encompass a wide array of advancing technologies and it's imperative that the dynamic and innovative nature of this popular form of entertainment remains flexible and is safeguarded from any formal regulation,” added Rich Roberts, Chief Executive Officer for Slingo. “I believe the Social Gaming Association will provide the industry with a clear, cohesive and consistent voice.”
