Terrell Owens’ ankle injury has lost him the position of Super Bowl favourite to score the first touch down according to sportsbook.com, the world’s largest sportsbook and casino. “Props bets for ‘who will score the first TD’ have shifted from Terrell to Corey Dillon and Deion Branch over doubts regarding Terrell’s ankle injury,” said Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director for Sportingbet PLC, Americas Region.

‘Who will score the first touchdown of the game’ is again this year’s most popular prop bet and this should continue through the opening kick-off.

Childs attributes the increased public interest in this prop to the Terrel Owens factor: “If Owens was 100% fit, he’d be a big time favorite at about 6-1. As it is, he’s currently 13-1. We’re talking about a receiver who scored 14 touchdowns in 14 games this year, which is a much better percentage than new current favorite Corey Dillon (11-2).”
