Leeds Poker Pro Collects Winnings from Vegas and Hills

Poker player wins $500,000 in Las Vegas and title of William Hill European Player of the Month

As if winning almost $500,000 in Las Vegas wasn’t enough, Leeds based poker player Lawrence Gosney has now joined a select list of names by becoming the latest winner of the WilliamHillPoker.com European rankings Player of the Month Award (powered by PokerInEurope.com).

Europe had some tremendous results at the recent World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, but the panel of esteemed judges were swayed toward the 41 year old professional poker player from Leeds, following his outstanding performance in winning the $2,000 buy in, No Limit Hold'em event at the WSOP.

Lawrence came through a world class field of 1,072 competitors to make the final table, before eventually defeating Swede Jarl Lindholt in an epic 8 hour war of attrition, taking home $483,195 and the coveted WSOP gold bracelet for his efforts.

“The World Series of Poker really is a fantastic event, it’s pretty much our industry’s Olympics and World Cup rolled into one. Lawrence’s achievement in winning one of the most prestigious events of the series, and defeating an exceptional field in the process, won a lot of praise from his fellow professionals and was more than deserving of our votes as this month’s WilliamHillPoker.com European Poker rankings player of the month,” Phil Quayle, William Hill’s Poker Room Manager, commented.
