Impact of International Expansion Reflected in Show’s Conference Content

Friday 22nd July 2005

LAS VEGAS – The casino industry is expanding around the globe, and nowhere has interest been higher this year than in the top international growth markets of Russia and Macau. Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2005, taking place Sept. 13-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center with the G2E Training & Development Institute September 12, provides unprecedented insight into these and other global gaming markets through dedicated conference sessions, extended networking opportunities and expanded international exhibitor participation.

“There’s never been a more significant period of growth in the international marketplace than right now,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA). “More U.S. companies are doing business and expanding operations abroad, and more international companies are looking to break into the U.S. market with their products. With all these developments, it’s imperative for us to learn about each other and forge the relationships that will yield successful global partnerships. G2E’s international conference sessions, enhanced exhibits and unmatched networking opportunities give participants from every jurisdiction access to the tools they need to succeed in today’s expanding global marketplace.”

The G2E conference sessions highlighting developments in Russia and Macau are just part of an international program track featuring more than 25 speakers from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Korea, Philippines Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

These comprehensive offerings include “Russian Market Growth Trends and U.S. Technology;” “Meeting in Macau: A Report on the First Year of Expanded Gaming;” “Las Vegas-Style Gaming: How Does It Translate in a World Market?;” “Spanish Accent: Gaming Growth in Latin America;” “Suspicious Transactions: Update on U.S. and International Money Laundering;” “Singing in Singapore: The Winners and Losers in Southeast Asia;” and “Doing It Right: International Regulatory and Compliance Concerns.”

G2E’s exhibit floor also has grown to feature a more robust international flavor, with more than 100 companies -- a full 20 percent of G2E exhibitors -- from outside the United States, including Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd., Novomatic Group of Companies/Austrian Gaming Industries, Octavian International, R. Franco, TCS John Huxley and Unidesa Gaming. International representation on the show floor has increased by 15,300 square feet to date, a 32 percent increase since last year, and 25 countries are represented.

Additionally, G2E will continue to provide networking opportunities for the international executives who are shaping the future of gaming around the world. Last year, 4,300 international attendees hailed from 107 different countries, including Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Macau, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, the Philippines, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, the U.K. and Venezuela.

International attendees can access G2E Web site content translated into Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Russian by visiting a section of the site designated for international participants. Special international registration packages that include translation services also are available.

G2E is the leading trade event for the worldwide gaming entertainment community, attended by more than 25,000 industry professionals from around the world. For more information on G2E or to register for group or early bird discounts, visit the G2E Web site at www.globalgamingexpo.com.
