Andy Bloch Wins Ultimate Poker Challenge Main Event

Poker Veteran Collects $165,000 and Second Ultimate Poker Challenge Title in Two Years

Friday 29th July 2005

Las Vegas, Nevada (July 28th, 2005) - Team Full Tilt member Andy Bloch took full advantage of his second Ultimate Poker Challenge final table appearance of the year by winning the UPC Main Event and taking home the $167,500 first-place prize on Wednesday, July 27th.

Bloch’s performance extends his record of strong finishes in the Ultimate Poker Challenge, where he scored three final table appearances in the series’ 2004 inaugural season, including a victory in the $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold ‘em tournament. This UPC victory marks Bloch’s second tournament win of the year, following his first-place finish at the World Series of Poker Circuit $1,000 Limit Hold ‘em tournament at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas in March 2005.

“Andy Bloch is a fierce competitor whose combination of talent and analytical skills are among the best in the poker world,” said fellow professional and Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

In addition to Bloch’s win, Team Full Tilt member Erik Seidel and Full Tilt Poker representative Ted Forrest also had strong showings at the Ultimate Poker Challenge Main Event. Seidel just missed making the event’s final table, finishing in eighth place and taking home $18,500, while Forrest finished the tournament in seventh position winning $21,500.

Bloch, Seidel and Forrest represent one of the fastest growing online poker sites, www.FullTiltPoker.com, and spend several hours a week online helping amateur players learn the game by sharing their poker knowledge through real-time chats at the virtual tables. Along with Bloch, Seidel and Forrest, 24 other top poker professionals play exclusively at www.FullTiltPoker.com, where they have helped to create the best possible atmosphere for players who want to improve their games.

“Team Full Tilt,” is a select group of the world’s finest professional poker players, including Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Andy Bloch, Phil Gordon (co-host, Celebrity Poker Showdown), Clonie Gowen, John Juanda, Jennifer Harman and others. Full Tilt Poker offers players the unique opportunity to play, chat, and learn with the best in the game. Full Tilt Poker’s 27 professional players have a total of 39 World Series of Poker bracelets.
