pokerzone Moving to SKY Channel 843

Increased popularity for poker and gaming entertainment prompts Sky to create new programming genre

Thursday 27th October 2005

pokerzone have announced they will be moving to SKY Channel 843 to become part of the new Gaming and Dating section of the SKY programme guide. The recent increase in the popularity of gaming and casino television has prompted Sky to add this new dedicated area to their existing platform.

After their relocation to SKY Channel 843, pokerzone will sit amongst a number of its closest competitors. Director of Programming, Samuel Orams, is looking forward to the move in the knowledge that it will further pokerzone’s popularity within a competitive market. “We‘ve always maintained there’s room for more than one shoe shop on the high street and are confident in what we believe to be a superior product. I’m sure that as a result of this move pokerzone will enjoy a steady influx of focused viewers migrating from rival channels.”

The changeover process has already started with shadowing occurring across both channel 226 and 843 and a full channel move will take place on 29th November 2005, when pokerzone will only be broadcast on Channel 843.
