New national paper to feature betting and sports analysis

The first national newspaper to land in the UK for over 20 years will launch this March. The paper, to be called “The Sportsman”, will be full colour and incorporate a wide range of betting markets including football, golf and poker.
Having recently signed Mark Maydon – Head of Development at rival British newspaper “The Sun” – as its digital director, The Sportsman is primed for launch.
Managing Director of The Sportsman, Max Aitken, was understandably pleased with their appointment of Maydon to the new newspaper. “Mark brings a wealth of commercial, management and editorial experience in both digital and newsprint media. The Sportsman will be the first ever Newspaper to simultaneously plan a launch in both traditional print and online format. We're looking at broadcast sponsorship opportunities as well,” he said.
