BloggerPokerTour.com has begun accepting registrations for the inaugural Blogger poker season, which will see $25,000 in cash and prizes being given away to the blogging community.
Top prize in the first season is a $12,500 package, which sees the best poker playing blogger sent to the 2006 World Series of Poker, where they will be eligible to win as much as $10,000,000 from the expected record prize pool.
The concept for the tour is a unique one which involves popular blogs 'hosting' a series of $500 freeroll poker tournaments at online poker site, Poker.com.
The host blogger is in charge of table design and the name of the event and sets up all relevant passwords and information. Other participants must then visit and link to each host blog during the course of the season to keep up with the tour events and results. Anybody who runs or contributes to a blog can participate in the free event.
As well as the big prize of the WSOP package, there are several other prizes up for grabs as well including a massive Dell LCD monitor, a custom made poker table and customised Apple iPods.
Tour manager, Scott Hutchens said, 'The internet would be nowhere near as interesting without bloggers and we're happy to be able to send the best poker playing blogger to the World Series.'
