US developer of applications for use on wireless devices, Summus, has reported a 263% increase in revenue to $1.2 million for the second quarter compared with the same period for the previous year, due to the success of its mobile phone poker game and downloadable swimsuit model wallpapers.
The company reported a 300% per month growth for subscription to its Phil Hellmuth’s Texas Hold’em product, and over 700,000 downloads of swimsuit images since it began offering them in March. Summus CEO Gary Ban has said that 13 national and international carriers now offer the swimsuit product from only two when the service first launched.
“Given our success with this product, we are looking forward to even greater revenue contributions as we expect to launch an upgraded Swimsuit product portfolio in 2005,” said Ban.
