Casino reports massive response as tournament gets underway

The Bicycle Casino’s famous Legends of Poker Tournament kicked off this week with the venue reporting a massive response from aspiring poker aces. A spokesperson at the bicycle said of Thursday’s opening event: “Over 690 poker players began lining up at 5:00 p.m. for their chance to play in a $30,000 Guaranteed event for a mere $120! The prize pool soared to $69,000 and lasted until 4:30 a.m.“
The Legends of Poker is one of the biggest tournaments around and, running until September 5th, certainly one of the longest. Thursday night also witnessed the grand opening of the Bicycle's newly raised 5,000 sq. ft tent that was built to accommodate increasing attendance of the casinos poker tournaments.
Organisers are saying this year promises to be one of the biggest tournaments in the casino’s history, with an estimated prize pool of over $3,000,000, including $430,000 guaranteed prize money in four different events, plus a special 'Last Chance' No-Limit Hold'em Series that begins in September. There are 40 additional tournaments on the schedule, with buy-ins ranging from $100 to $5000. The pinnacle of the tournament is the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship, which will begin on Saturday, August 28th and will be televised on the Travel Channel.
