Plenty of Betting Action in Premier League Football Markets

Bill Sinrich to address delegates at SportBusiness Campus 2006

Monday 27th March 2006

Following a disastrous week for Premiership club, Birmingham City in which they lost 7-0 to European Champions, Liverpool and then 3-0 to Manchester United, William Hill are now offering odds of 6/5 that Manager, Steve Bruce will leave the club before the end of the season. Moreover, the sportsbook has offered odds of 1/3 that Birmingham will be relegated.

Birmingham currently lie in the 3 points adrift of safety and, with the prospect of meeting Premiership champions Chelsea in their next match, the outlook is certainly bleak for the Midlanders. However, if you think Bruce’s men can turn things around, William Hill are offering 8/13 that Bruce stays in his job until the end of the campaign, and 9/4 that Birmingham avoid relegation.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Manchester United is 1/7 to finish runners-up to Chelsea, whilst Liverpool is 4/1 to claim second place. Both teams had important wins at the weekend as Liverpool overcame their city neighbours, Everton 3-1 and United defeated Birmingham.

In Champions League news, Arsenal are 4/6 favourites to finish fourth and claim the final Champions League qualification place, whilst Tottenham are 9/4.
