The Masters is now just a matter of weeks away and Tiger Woods has already been installed as a 5-2 favourite to win his fifth title at Augusta. Tiger is currently in second place on the list of all-time Masters winners but still languishes three victories behind the record-holder, Jack “Golden Bear” Nicklaus.
If Woods can come out on top in Augusta, the speculation of a possible Grand Slam – winning all four major tournaments – would undoubtedly surface. Sportsbook,com has opened the betting that Woods can win The Masters, The British Open, The US Open and The PGA Championships at 22-1.
The Ryder Cup is also back in 2006 and will take place in September at Straffan, Ireland. Europe won the last contest in 2004 by a record margin and are slight favourites to retain the trophy at 5/6.
