Borgata Main Event Sees Early Elimination for Pros

The first two days of the Borgata Poker Open’s main event, September 15 and 16, saw a record-breaking 540 players in attendance and a number of early big-name eliminations respectively.
The highly-regarded tournament recorded the largest turnout of players in the history of Atlantic City poker with 540 players anteing-up $10,000 for a shot at the biggest prize pool in Borgata Poker Open history. A first place finish will make the winner $1.5 million richer and will present them with the opportunity for another big win with a $25,000 seat at the World Poker Tour Championship.
Spectators were treated to some intriguing tables as a number of top pros matched up the first round of this four-day event, whittling the field down to 248 players who returned the following day.
A series of early big name eliminations on day two included David Williams and Antonio Esfandiari. Many of the game's biggest poker names fell victim to challengers who showed no fear of the better-known players or their cards.
Barry Greenstein, David 'the Dragon' Pham, Kathy Liebert, Shawn Chaconas, Chad Brown, and Jennifer Tilly are amongst the stars left in the field.
The final table will take place on September 19 at 17:00.
