India’s Online Casino Pioneer Goes Live

Asian market-specific site MaharajahClub.com unveils new ‘play-for-fun’ site

The Asian online casino standard bearer, MaharajahClub.com, looks set to further establish itself within the Indian market tomorrow, with the release of its new ‘play-for-fun only’ gaming site, MaharajahClub.net.

The new website will be the first online gaming facility aimed specifically towards the emerging Indian market, with the ‘play-for-fun’ element designed to develop the popularity of casino and poker games across a continent where such activities are still relatively new.

Maharajah Club already has a strong presence in India through its involvement in a Bollywood-based TV show, its support for cricket website MahaCricket.com, and its sponsorship of the inaugural Asian Poker Classic in Goa, India, during March of next year.

Sachin Pawa, CEO of Maharajah Gaming, explained that as the company were the first online gaming site to specifically target the Asian market in the UK, Europe and South East Asia, Maharajah Club’s strong cultural relevancy would prove significant in making an impact in one of the world’s fastest growing economies.

“This is the first time an online gaming company has targeted an audience based on ethnicity. It happens in land-based casinos around the world,” he said. “By targeting ethnically, we can cater to the culturally specific needs of our clients in a way that no other casino on the Internet can.”
